A rustic 12x12 foot public use cabin in Kachemak Bay State Park that sleeps 2 people. The cabin is located just off the Moose Valley Loop trail, approximately 2.4 miles from the Halibut Cove Lagoon Ranger Station. The trail leaves the China Poot Lake trail about 1.2 miles from the station and loops through Moose Valley with access to the South Spur trail to China Poot Lake or the Wosnesenski River Trail. The cabin features a small wood stove for heat. Water can be taken from the stream off the front porch but must be boiled, filtered, or treated before drinking. A small outhouse is nearby. The trail is normally cleared mid to late June, making the cabin more suitable for later-season use. Reservations can be made up to 7 months in advance with a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights. Accessible only by hiking from the ranger station.
