Wellsville Lake Conservation Area is a 125.6-acre Missouri Department of Conservation property in Montgomery County, located south of Wellsville via Highway 19 and County Roads 21 and 27. The area centers on a lake formed from former clay pits, supporting channel catfish (stocked), largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and green sunfish. Electric motors only are permitted on the lake. Primitive camping is available at designated sites at no charge, with no water hookups. The area is open for hunting, fishing, hiking, and nature observation from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Camping is first-come, first-served and limited to 14 consecutive days in any 30-day period.
