Yaeger Bar is a primitive gravel bar campsite along the Gulkana Wild and Scenic River, accessible only by float boat or paddle craft. This riverside wilderness location offers space for approximately 5 tents on an established gravel bar. The Gulkana River is recognized as one of Alaskas top sportfishing destinations, offering excellent opportunities for king salmon, red salmon, rainbow trout, and arctic grayling. As a National Wild and Scenic River managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the corridor is preserved for its primitive character and outstanding natural values. Visitors should practice Leave No Trace camping - no facilities are provided. The typical float season extends from early June through mid-September.
