The BLM encourages low-impact camping techniques to maintain the wild character of the Gulkana River corridor. No fee for river use. The area offers excellent fishing opportunities and access to the designated Wild and Scenic River. The Gulkana River is best accessed early June through mid-September, with July being the wettest month. Summer temperatures range from 35�F to occasional highs in the 80s.
