A dispersed backcountry camping area along Ptarmigan Creek within Glacier Bay National Park. Free backcountry permits are required from May through September and can be obtained at the Bartlett Cove Visitor Information Station after completing a mandatory 30-minute orientation. Bear-resistant food containers are provided at no charge. This remote wilderness area has no developed facilities and campers must practice Leave No Trace principles. Access is by kayak or tour boat drop-off service. Maximum group size is 12 people in wilderness areas.
