A small U.S. Forest Service recreation site offering three sheltered, tent-only campsites on Wrangell Island within Tongass National Forest. Located 23 miles southeast of Wrangell off Forest Road 6265 and 50050, the site is surrounded by old-growth spruce and hemlock forest. Each covered shelter includes a picnic table and fire ring. A small sandy beach is located next to one shelter, with swimming opportunities at higher water levels. Vault toilets are available but there is no potable water. The site is reachable via a 700-foot gravel path from the parking area. Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, though summer offers the easiest access conditions. Fishing for trout is available in Salamander Creek.
