A primitive paddle-in camping area accessible only by boat, located on the southwest end of Goat Island in Caddo Lake Wildlife Management Area. The site offers a true wilderness camping experience with minimal facilities - no restrooms, no drinking water, and only occasional fire rings among the trees. Visitors must bring their own drinking water and insect repellent is strongly recommended. Access is from the Caddo Lake WMA boat launch on FR Camp Road near State Highway 43 in Karnack. The area operates year-round except during annual drawn hunts. Entry requires either an Annual Public Hunting Permit or Limited Public Use permit. The wildlife management area provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, birding, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and nature photography throughout the cypress-lined waters of Caddo Lake. Fishing, trapping, and hunting for white-tailed deer, feral hog, waterfowl, and dove are permitted in season. Airboats, ATVs, and ORVs are prohibited, and the area is not wheelchair accessible.
