A 90-site campground situated on an 86-acre lake surrounded by pine and oak-covered hills in the Ouachita National Forest, approximately 12 miles south of Heavener, Oklahoma. The facility features four camping loops: Shady Lane offers electric, sewer, and water hookups; Sandy Beach provides electric hookups only; the Equestrian area has electric hookups available; and North Shore offers primitive camping without hookups. Amenities include picnic tables, grills, campfire rings, lantern posts, flush toilets, warm showers, and drinking water. Recreation opportunities include swimming areas, boat ramps, fishing piers, playgrounds, volleyball court, and a 3-mile lake perimeter trail. The area provides access to over 70 miles of marked horseback riding trails. Horse facilities are available with corrals, though proof of current Coggins test is required. Reservations must be made at least 10 days in advance. Note: Northshore bathhouses are currently closed due to plumbing issues; campers in that area must use facilities at Shady Lane or Sandy Beach.
