A dispersed camping area within a 356-acre wildlife management area in York County managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The north basin contains 70 acres of semi-permanent wetlands and 175 acres of seasonal wetlands, with the remainder in upland grasses. This primitive camping area has no facilities beyond what visitors bring themselves, with no restrooms or trash receptacles. Camping is permitted for up to 14 consecutive days within any 30-day period. The area is excellent for viewing migrating waterfowl, especially snow geese in spring, and attracts shorebirds including American avocets from April through June.
Camping on WMAs is permitted for a maximum of 14 consecutive days within any 30 day period. Camping is truly primitive, for generally there are not facilities on these areas. WMAs do not have public restrooms or trash receptacles.
