Slippery Lady is a primitive dispersed camping area within the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge in Phillips County, Montana. Situated in the remote Missouri Breaks terrain, the site offers undeveloped roadside camping managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. There are no water sources, hookups, or utilities on-site, and no reservations are needed. Campers must position their site within 100 yards of an open numbered road and are subject to a 14-consecutive-day stay limit within any 30-day period. All supplies, including drinking water, must be brought in. The refuge spans over a million acres of grasslands, badlands, and river breaks, providing opportunities for wildlife viewing, hiking, and fishing in a remote high-plains setting.
Camping outside of a campground is allowed, unless the area is designated as closed. Vehicles may be driven, using the most direct route, up to 100 yards from an open numbered road to establish campsites. Any camping unit and/or party is limited to 14 days within any 30 day period.
