A remote North Maine Woods campsite located in the Aroostook County wilderness near Portage. This primitive camping area offers 3 RV-accessible sites with vault toilet facilities but no water or electric hookups. The site operates under North Maine Woods management with camping permits issued at checkpoint gates. Fees are $12 per person per night for Maine residents and $15 for non-residents, with free camping for visitors under 18. Sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted. Maximum stay is two weeks per campsite. Open seasonally from May through October. The site features steel fire rings, cedar picnic tables, and toilets as an authorized campsite. Fires may be built in the provided steel rings without requiring a separate Maine Forest Service Fire Permit. Access is via remote logging roads in the North Maine Woods region managed by the Allagash District office in Portage.
