Alum Ford Campground is a primitive facility located in the Kentucky portion of Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, approximately 7 miles west of Whitley City at the end of Highway 700. The campground features six campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Amenities include pit toilets and an adjacent boat launch providing access to Lake Cumberland. The Sheltowee Trace National Recreational Trail passes directly through the campground. Operating year-round, sites are available through the reservation system up to 6 months in advance, with check-in and check-out at noon Eastern Time.
