Nebo State Fishing Lake is a 38-acre lake with 43 acres of surrounding land in Jackson County, located 8 miles east and 1 mile north of Holton. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 15 feet and offers fishing for channel catfish, largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill. A boat ramp is located on the north side of the lake, with boating allowed for fishing purposes only. The area provides free primitive camping anywhere around the lake. A pit toilet is available but there is no potable water on site. Shoreline access is limited. The lake and wildlife area were leased from the Delaware Watershed District No. 10 in 1965 and are managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
