Concannon State Fishing Lake is an 800-acre wildlife area located approximately 17 miles northeast of Garden City on the north side of Highway 156. The property includes grassland, cropland, a 50-acre lake, and 40-acre marsh purchased in 1989. Free primitive camping is allowed in designated areas. The proximity to Garden City makes it ideal for day-use activities including bird watching, photography, hiking, fishing, hunting, and picnicking. The marsh and lake attract ducks, geese, herons, shorebirds, pheasants, quail, white-tailed deer, and various waterfowl. A no-trash policy is in effect - pack out all trash. Maximum stay is seven consecutive days.
