Chuck Wagon Campground is a free primitive camping area within the 7,400-acre KICCO Wildlife Management Area, requiring a Special Use License from the South Florida Water Management District. Located near the Equestrian Campsite and tucked into a stately stand of Live Oak trees, the site offers basic dispersed camping in a natural setting. The KICCO WMA protects a diverse mosaic of habitats including scrub, oak hammock, cypress strand, pine-palmetto flatwoods, and the marshes of Blanket Bay Slough along the Kissimmee River in Polk County. The area features approximately 11 miles of the Florida Trail traversing through various ecosystems, plus 9 miles of KICCO Grade road excellent for biking. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound with white-tailed deer, alligators, bald eagles, wild turkeys, hawks, wading birds, and sandhill cranes. Campers must obtain a Special Use License from the South Florida Water Management District before arrival.
