A scenic campground in the Citrus Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest, less than 30 minutes south of Inverness. Features 13 water-only, non-electric sites arranged in a horseshoe around a former phosphate mine pit that has become a lake suitable for swimming. Each site accommodates up to one RV and one tent, or three tents, with picnic tables and fire rings. Restroom and shower facilities available on site. Swimming allowed in the lake, with fishing opportunities. Trail access connects to two long loop trails approximately 1.5 to 2 miles away, suitable for overnight backpacking. Open year-round with reservations available up to 11 months in advance through ReserveAmerica.
