A Bureau of Land Management trailhead and dispersed camping area located in Cucharas Canyon northeast of Walsenburg in Huerfano County. Also known as Wilson Crossing East trailhead, this site sits at 5,965 feet elevation on historic Kenner Ranch land now maintained by BLM. The area provides free year-round access to primitive camping and trails. Facilities include trailer parking, hitching rails, high line posts, and a corral, making it suitable for equestrian use as well as hiking and tent camping. Accessed by traveling east on CO Highway 10 for 17 miles from Walsenburg, then north on County Road 123 for 4.5 miles.
From Walsenburg travel east on CO Hwy 10 for 17 miles then turn north onto County Road 123, across from the Apishapa State Wildlife Area sign. Go 4.5 mi to reach Kenner Ranch/Wilson Crossing East trailhead. Trailer parking with hitching rails, high line posts and a corral available.
At the northernmost end near the Wilson Crossing TH is historic Kenner Ranch, maintained by BLM. The Canyon features hiking opportunities on and off trail.
