A primitive camping area at Bois d'Arc Wildlife Management Area in Hempstead County offering dispersed sites around the lake and on the west side of the WMA. The area has minimal facilities with no water available but provides wide open parking spaces. Two large camping areas and four public access areas are available on the lake. The WMA offers excellent fishing and bird-watching opportunities, plus hunting for duck, deer, turkey, squirrel, and rabbit. Important safety note: Bois d'Arc Lake is home to American alligators, caution should be used at all times during warm weather, and swimming is not allowed.
