An Army Corps of Engineers campground on Woodruff Lake along the Alabama River, nestled beneath moss-draped oaks in the Black Prairie Belt region of northern Lowndes County. The facility offers 62 campsites total: 55 family RV sites and 7 tent-only sites, all with electric hookups. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a dump station, and laundry facilities. The grounds feature a boat ramp, dock, playground, basketball court, and picnic shelter. Woodruff Lake provides excellent fishing opportunities for bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Additional activities include boating, jet skiing, water sports, hiking, swimming, biking, and wildlife viewing. The nearby Lowndes Wildlife Management Area spans 12,500 acres and offers hunting for whitetail deer, wild turkey, hogs, and various small game and waterfowl.
