A primitive equestrian campground in the William B. Bankhead National Forest, located in northwestern Alabama across Lawrence, Winston, and Franklin Counties. The facility provides overnight camping for trail riders on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required. Sites are located directly on the Owl Creek Trail System, allowing immediate access to approximately 26 miles of horseback riding trails. The trail system begins on Forest Service Road 262, about 7 miles east of Highway 33. Riders can choose from loops of varying lengths throughout the extensive trail network. The campground offers basic primitive facilities including vault toilets and central water access. The site is approximately 15 minutes from the Sipsey Wilderness area, popular for hiking and natural scenery.
