Granite Bay State Marine Park is an undeveloped wilderness park located on the northwest corner of Esther Island in Prince William Sound, approximately 25 miles from Whittier. Accessible only by boat or floatplane, the park features two bays, protective islands, and old-growth forest uplands. Most of the shoreline consists of steep granite cliffs, boulders, and slabs. Primitive tent camping is available in selected areas, with options to camp on heather or in beach grass. The surrounding hills offer excellent hiking with panoramic views, and Tange Lake at the head of the northern arm has been stocked with rainbow trout.
