A 37-site campground in Chena River State Recreation Area at milepost 27 on Chena Hot Springs Road, about 45 minutes east of Fairbanks. The facility features sites along the Chena River surrounded by spruce and birch forest with river access, vault toilets, water, and fire rings. No RV size restrictions with a 15-day camping limit. Open May through September on a first-come, first-served basis. Popular activities include fishing for grayling, hiking nearby trails, and wildlife observation. Chena Hot Springs' soaking pools are a short drive away. The campground offers a peaceful base for exploring the Chena River State Recreation Area's quarter-million acres of rolling hills and river country.
