A remote wilderness camping location within Wood-Tikchik State Park, accessible only by aircraft. Chikuminuk Lake sits in the Upper Tikchik Lakes region designated as wilderness within Management Unit 2, which also includes Nishlik, Slate, and Upnuk Lakes. The lake is closed to motorized watercraft to preserve the wilderness character. Special Use Permits are required to camp on or around the lake, with a flat $350 permit fee plus $5 transaction fee per permit, available through Reserve America up to seven months in advance. A maximum of six groups may camp on or around the lake at any one time year-round. Camping at a specific location is limited to 10 consecutive days, after which camps must relocate a minimum of one mile from that location. GPS coordinates: 60.2200N, 158.9500W.
