Summit Lake is a designated backcountry campsite in Yellowstone National Park, accessed via the Continental Divide Trail. The park maintains 293 designated backcountry campsites across 1,114 miles of trails. A backcountry use permit is required year-round for all overnight stays. Permits cost $5 per person per night plus a $10 reservation fee. The campsite has no facilities and visitors must pack out all waste.
