Bretz Mill is a free, primitive campground alongside Big Creek in the Sierra National Forest near Shaver Lake. The campground features 11 sites with 10 located creekside and one facing a large meadow. Sites accommodate RVs up to 24 feet with vault toilets and picnic tables provided. No potable water or garbage service available - pack out all trash. Open year-round with a 14-day stay limit and first-come, first-served camping. Popular as an OHV base camp, the area offers creek access, shade from pines and oaks, and serves as a cooler retreat during hot weather. Maintained by Mountain Toppers 4WD club. Closest services in Prather or Shaver Lake, approximately 40-45 minutes away. No cell service available.
